{"id":16483,"date":"2021-03-17T11:20:45","date_gmt":"2021-03-17T10:20:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/florencewhatelse.it\/?post_type=prox_experience&#038;p=16483"},"modified":"2022-01-10T17:14:48","modified_gmt":"2022-01-10T16:14:48","slug":"guided-tour-florence-gardens-torrigiani-gardens","status":"publish","type":"prox_experience","link":"https:\/\/florencewhatelse.it\/en\/prox_experience\/guided-tour-florence-gardens-torrigiani-gardens\/","title":{"rendered":"Guided tour of Florence gardens: Torrigiani Gardens"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Torrigiani Gardens in Florence: an hidden gem within the city walls<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Florence there is one of the <strong>largest private gardens in Europe<\/strong>, hidden within the city walls and open only by reservation and on special occasions: the <strong>Torrigiani Gardens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s one of the most beautiful <strong>botanical gardens in Italy<\/strong> thanks to the presence of numerous greenhouses, lemon houses and tepidariums that welcome many varieties of ancient trees and plants, coming from all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>It still belongs to a historic Florentine family, the Torrigiani, who have their home here; as a matter of fact, it\u2019s going to be one of the family members to guide you through the garden with me, show you the numerous works of art that are hidden behind the trees and tell you interesting anecdotes that no one else could ever know.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traduzione\"><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">One of the most beautiful Florence gardens<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Torrigiani Garden is a splendid nineteenth-century-style private park of almost 7 hectares and is <strong>one of the largest urban European gardens<\/strong>, as well as being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n<p>It is in perfect condition and is owned by an important and historic Florentine family, the Torrigiani, who have their private residence here; it is therefore open to visitors only during special occasions or by reservation.<\/p>\n<p>At the entrance of these <strong>Florence gardens,<\/strong> after a first introduction to the garden with me, we will continue the guided tour with one of the family members who will guide us on this special journey through nature and art and show us the garden secrets spots that are usually closed to public.
