Florence walking tour: let\u2019s discover the city center<\/strong>\u00a0together!<\/h1>\n

If you are in Florence for the first time, I invite you to start with the Florence walking tour<\/a><\/b> experience. This is a pleasant stroll around the historic center<\/b> to appreciate the atmosphere of culture and history found in every corner and to learn more about Renaissance architecture<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Our tour will start from Piazza San Giovanni<\/b>, where the majestic Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore<\/b>\u2014crowned by the largest masonry dome ever built\u2014stands alongside Giotto\u2019s Bell Tower<\/b> and the Baptistery of Saint John<\/b>.<\/p>\n

We will walk through a charming maze<\/b> of narrow streets and ancient tower-houses<\/b>, uncovering the hidden soul of Florence<\/a><\/b> and the Medieval heart<\/b> of the city where Dante Alighieri<\/b> was born.<\/p>\n

Then, we will continue to Piazza della Signoria<\/b> to enter the political district of Florence, whose symbol is Palazzo Vecchio<\/b>, the ancient residence of the Medici Family<\/b> and today both the city hall and an important art museum. Furthermore, the square itself is a true open-air museum<\/b>, filled with wonderful statues from the 15th and 16th centuries, such as the world-famous copy of Michelangelo\u2019s David<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, will keep walking until we reach Ponte Vecchio<\/b>, also called the Old Bridge, the symbol of the city which survived many catastrophic events, from several floods of the Arno River<\/b> to the devastation of the Second World War. Today, visitors from all over the world gather on the bridge to admire the shop windows of goldsmiths and jewelry stores<\/a><\/b>, which boast more than 400 years of history.<\/p>\n

Our walk wouldn’t be complete without seeking a little luck with another symbol of Florence: the boar statue, known as the \u201cFontana del Porcellino.\u201d<\/b> Located between the Old Bridge and Piazza della Repubblica<\/b>, it is a must-see stop thanks to an ancient legend that I will share with you during our amazing walk<\/b>.<\/p>\n
