Walking City Tour

Walking City Tour

Our tour will begin with a walk through the main squares of Florence to know more about the history of the city, its most significant buildings and the families that have come to power, especially the Medici family. Historical residences, Gothic churches and Renaissance sculptures enrich all the squares of Florence’s city center, making it look like an open-air museum. We will cross the scenic Piazza della Signoria dominated by the majestic Palazzo Vecchio and populated by incredible Renaissance statues, we will walk on Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in the city that has survived countless vicissitudes, and we will admire the grandeur and magnificence of Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, the heart and symbol of Florence.
Uffizi Gallery

Uffizi Gallery

To really fully understand the greatness of the Medici and the Renaissance, we cannot forget to include in our itinerary the guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery, initially created to accommodate all the offices of the family scattered around the city, and thus centralize their power in a single headquarters. Year after year, its rooms have begun to host the numerous works of art collected by the Medici, turning it into one of the most visited Renaissance art museums in the world today. Here you will admire Giotto's Maestà, Botticelli's Venus and Spring, Michelangelo's Tondo Doni, Leonardo da Vinci's Annunciation and much more, and I will guide you on a special journey through art from the 13th to the 15th century.
Accademia Gallery

Accademia Gallery

We will end our itinerary in Florence with a guided tour of the Accademia Gallery where Michelangelo's most famous masterpiece is located: David. The Bible tells us the story of the young David who defeats the giant Goliath with a slingshot, thus saving the Israeli people from destruction. Here, the religious story merges with the history of Florence and David becomes the undisputed symbol of the intelligence and cunning of the modern Renaissance man. What leaves you astonished about this statue is David’s perfect and harmonious physique, full of incredible anatomical details such as the veins on the neck and hand, and the muscles in tension, thus embodying the representation of human perfection and the culmination of Michelangelo’s sculptural skills.
