Secret Florence

Secret Florence

We will begin the tour with a walk through the squares and alleys of the historic center, with particular attention to the symbols and details that enrich the city buildings and works of art, which are not visible at first glance. In addition to visiting the city highlights such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Novella, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and more, we will also enter the less traveled streets that hide the secrets of Florence and the families who ruled it. I will tell you about ancient traditions, stories of forbidden conspiracies, and loves and popular legends to let you discover Florence in a fun and intriguing way.
Bargello Museum

Bargello Museum

We will continue our tour in the Bargello Museum, a majestic medieval building modified several times over the centuries based on the role it held, which houses incredible Renaissance masterpieces such as Michelangelo's Bacchus, Donatello's David, Giambologna's Mercury and the wonderful Della Robbia porcelains, but which unfortunately is often overlooked by visitors who are in Florence for just a short time. This is definitely an unmissable hidden gem of Florence that hides priceless works of art, with also a very dark side and past of the city, since it was a prison for a long time and the place where executions took place.
Piazzale Michelangelo and the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte

Piazzale Michelangelo and the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte

As the final stop of this guided tour, we will reach Piazzale Michelangelo in about 15 minutes taxi ride, a wonderful square with a panoramic view overlooking the entire city, dedicated to one of the most important Renaissance artists. As a matter of fact, a bronze copy of Michelangelo's David, the undisputed symbol of Florence, was placed here as protector of the city and its citizens. Moreover, this square is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset and take breathtaking photos. Just few meters from Michelangelo square, there is the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte, one of the oldest churches in the city; a truly fascinating place, so full of decorations and hidden symbols, that captivates the eyes and heart of anyone who visits it.
