On this guided tour in Tuscany we will visit together San Miniato, a medieval village located on the hills along the Via Francigena and among the main cities of the region. Tuscany and especially San Miniato truffle hunting began more than a century ago and this tradition has continued until today thanks to the numerous truffle hunter families living here that have been handed down from generation to generation the secrets and techniques to find these rare mushrooms.

If the history of truffle has intrigued you, at the end of the guided tour with me you can also participate in a truffle hunting yourself, guided by an expert truffle hunter and his dog through the woods of San Miniato countryside, one of the most prolific truffle areas in Tuscany.

It will be a pleasant walk of about 1 hour and a half, where you can enjoy the scents and colors of nature and you can have fun playing the role of a truffle hunter for a day. It is also an excellent experience for families and children who will feel completely involved in this alternative treasure hunt!

Afterwards, you can choose whether to end your experience with a small local wine and truffles tasting at the truffle hunter and his family’s home.
